Week 17 of 209 Weeks:
May you feel loved
May you feel free from fear
May your hopes and dreams be realized
Photo Notes: This photo was taken at Pacem in Terris in Isanti, MN in Feb 2025. On a walk, I found this “footprint” in the snow. It took me a minute to realize the leaf, with its stem caught around a blade of grass, was spinning around and carving out a natural mandala in the snow.

Week 18 of 209 Weeks: “I would hurl words into this darkness and wait for an echo, and if an echo sounded, no matter how faintly, I would send other words to tell, to march, to fight, to create a sense of the hunger for life that gnaws in us all.” —Richard Wright, Black Boy (1945)
Photo Notes: This photo was taken at the University of Minnesota’s last iron pour in spring 2019. It was the 50th anniversary of the iron pour. The flag reads We The People SAY NO to the Bush Trump Agenda.

Week 19 of 209 Weeks:
‘Tis not in the high stars alone,
Nor in the cup of budding flowers,
Nor in the red-breast’s mellow tone,
Nor in the bow that smiles in showers.
But in the darkest, meanest things
There alway, alway something sings. —Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Music”
Photo Notes: Taken at a state park maybe? (I need to take better notes!)

Week 20 of 209 Weeks: No dejarte dominar por el miedo. Translation: Don’t let yourself be ruled by fear.
Photo Notes: This carved lion, made out of a large chunk of wood, was found at a garden center sort of store (or maybe a landscaper?) in Seoul, South Korea in May 2024.
